Publication Standards

Similarly, manuscripts will be received as long as they meet the following formal requirements: 

  1.  Indicate the institutional affiliation (only one institutional affiliation per author) and email address of each of the authors, as well as who will be the corresponding author and their postal address.
  2. The Journal publishes the titles, abstracts and keywords in a second language, in accordance with international guidelines. Therefore, authors are requested to submit expert certified translations for these three fields.
  3. The content of the article must have a maximum length of 7,500 words in its entirety, which include citations, tables, figures and bibliographic references.
  4. The citation must be in accordance with APA (2019) seventh edition.
  5. Documents must be submitted in .doc or .docx format in Times New Roman font with 12 points, 2.0 line spacing, letter size 21.5 x 28cm, 2.5cm margins, vertical orientation. Figures, tables and formulas must be presented at the end of the body of the text. Images must be submitted in TIF, JPG or PNG format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dpi).
  6. Decimals, according to the guideline of the Journal, should keep the leading zero (0.) and the whole number should not be left with a decimal point (2 instead of 2.0).
  7. There must be a strict correspondence between citations and references in the text.
  8. The footnotes will go at the end of the document, before the tables and figures, with Arabic numerals. If used, they must fulfill a complementary function and for no reason should they contain bibliographic references. In the same way it is advisable to avoid using them.
  9. Quotes that exceed 40 words must be one point smaller than the font size and must be aligned to the left.
  10. Each reference must have its respective Doi, or if they do not have one, the URL from where it was obtained must be provided.
  11. It must be indicated whether or not the article was financed by any entity. In such case, it is necessary to mention the institution that financed it.
  12. Indicate two disciplinary areas to which the article belongs (Clinical Psychology; Educational Psychology; Social, Environmental and Community Psychology; Organizational Psychology; Health Psychology; Legal Psychology; Consumer Psychology; Other).

Summary structure

  1. Abstracts must be between a minimum of 120 and a maximum of 150 words. They must indicate the purpose of the study, the results and conclusions (follow the recommendations of APA, 2019) and written in Spanish and English.
  2. It is necessary to present between 3 and 6 keywords and each of them must have less than four words.

Articles structure

Paragraphs and headings

  • Each paragraph should be longer than a single sentence, but not as long as a page of writing.
  • The contents of the headings accurately reflect the organization of the document.
  • There must be a space between the heading and the text.
  • Begin with indentation (7 spaces) each paragraph.
  • Follow the APA format for ranking.

Mathematical symbols and statistics

  • The most common mathematical symbols identified in the text should be written in Greek letters and in italics.
  • Italics are used for all non-Greek letters used as statistical symbols for algebraic variables.

Statistical information

  • Statistical or graphic information should be grouped in tables or figures.
  • Each of the tables (or figures) must be numbered followed and with a subtitle that begins with “Table n” (or “Figure n”). NOTE: No period at the end, no bold, no italics and 2 (Double) spacing. Only the title of the table (or figure) is in italics and under the word “table/figure n”, as shown below, it does not have a period at the end:

NOTE: When you cite in the text referring to the table or the figure, you should say: in “table/figure n”.

  • State very briefly the content of this table (or figure).
  • Tables and figures must be accompanied by their sources, clearly, within the text or in footnotes, so that the origin of the data can be checked without inconvenience.

References

  • In alphabetical order at the end of the document.
  • Each reference must be cited in the text, and each text citation must be listed in the references section.
